this is the worst news I've had all year

Dear Chris Perry,

Thank you for your interest in joining the London Underground busking scheme.

At this time, the scheme has an optimum number of licensees. Therefore, the we are not accepting new applicants and your name has been put on a waiting list pending the reopening of the scheme.

As we have recently concluded an Audition period in 2010, we believe that the application process will not be opened to applicants again until after next year (2013) although no decision on this has been made at this stage.

the countryside - 11/09

misty morning on the moors

muted sun through cov'ring fog

bluish grey turned into green

stone-shod fields and life unseen

humming, humming, hums along

training through the thinning mist

raindrops sprinkling on the glass

swaying when the trains go past

clicking, clicking, clacks the tracks

muted through the greyish fog

reading helps the time along

staring whilst the world goes on

where this ends, I do not know

still I thought to climb aboard

better than the end, a ride

through the stunning countryside

my mistress google

One thing I really love about life is going to bed next to my Android phone, knowing that Google is just a few inches away, ready to save me from the perils of ignorance.

Google is my best friend.  She knows everything about me.  She knows my schedule, she knows my friends, she knows who I just made fun of on gchat, she knows where I'm flying, she knows what books I like, and she knows about that time I gained and lost 30 lbs on a whim.

She also tells my friends these things, apparently, because she showed this to my buddy Berry the other day:

Scarygoogle

Dear Google, I love you, but you are a wily mistress.  Could you maybe ratchet down the stalker level to a light orange or maybe a calm green?
